TIME TO DECIMAL

How do I convert time to decimal hours?

Calculation notes

Decimal hours = hours + minutes ÷ 60. Decimal hours × 60 rounds to the nearest minute.

  • 15 min = 0.25 h
  • 30 min = 0.50 h
  • 45 min = 0.75 h
How it works
  1. For hours and minutes, enter each number separately; minutes must be from 0 to 59.
  2. Convert to decimal hours, where minutes are divided by 60.
  3. Or enter decimal hours to get an HH:MM duration rounded to the nearest minute.

Example

7 hours 45 minutes equals 7.75 decimal hours. In the other direction, 2.67 decimal hours rounds to 02:40 in HH:MM.
